About Us

GRITT Academy is a transformative year-long journey, the program is designed to empower young Hispanic men through mentorship, personal growth, and meaningful connections. Our program features a series of immersive retreats and dedicated mentorship to guide participants toward becoming confident, capable Christian contributors in their communities.

What we are aiming to resolve

  • Guiding young men in building character via our GRITT (Growth Resilience Integrity Tenacity & Transformation) program to make it through the real-world.

    • Angela Duckworth's book, "Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance", emphasizes that talent is not the sole determinant of success. Effort counts twice as much as talent. Grit is about having the resilience and commitment to keep going even when things are tough.

  • Most high school and collegiate classwork content prepares students for subject-matter specialties, but very little is done to prepare our youth for the world.

    • One example is regarding managing or administering one's personal finances. In this article by Bankrate, young people wish they had learned about a) budgets, b) emergency funds, c) the importance of saving, d) how to navigate through debt & loans, & d) investing for the future.

  • Despite Hispanics representing 19% of the US population, they only represent 8% of the professional workforce and only 5% of all executives. In addition, 40% of mid-level managers don't see opportunities for future growth for themselves.

  • The workplace, is a challenging place, and being a Christian is the workplace, and being true to one's values can make things even more difficult. We want to help coach participants navigate the workplace while being Christians.
